To save some teacher tears, there will be no mention in this blog post about how many days of school we have left. :) Please make sure that you are checking the main blog for school-wide information.


Math 
Objectives: count by 2's; group by 2's; understand even and odd numbers, halves and fractions
  •  Please make sure that you complete the lesson at the bottom of the pages and extend it by using other numbers/scenarios.
  • We are working on counting by 5's (to 50) and by 2's (to 20). Please work on this orally with your student.
Reading
Objectives: to read and accurately blend words and sentences with all long vowel/silent e pattern and with vowel pairs " ai and ay"
  • Have your child read to you every day! READ,READ, READ!!!!
Writing 
Objectives: To write the capital letters and lower case letters correctly (typically top to bottom/left to right) on handwriting paper; to write first and last names correctly on handwriting paper; to be able to accurately copy a sentence, using handwriting lines correctly.
  • Keep monitoring proper pencil grip and correct letter formation! Have your student self-correct any backward letter or number! They should be gaining speed and accuracy in their copywork, by this point in the year.
Spelling
Objectives:  To be able to identify open and closed syllables
  • Please introduce Key Cards 14, 15, 16 this week. Continue to review all key cards (especially 11, 12, 13), along with phonograms at the beginning of each lesson.
History 
Objectives: to gain an understanding that history began with God and creation; to see God's hand in every event.

Objectives: to be able to identify the parts of a plant and what their job is; to describe the life cycle of a plant; to be able to discuss God's purpose for plants.
